Michel Sardou is one of my favourite French singers. He has chosen a career in France, ignoring the prospect of an international fame. He is known not only for his love songs, but also for songs dealing with various social and political issues, such as the rights of women in Islamic countries, clerical celibacy, colonialism and the death penalty.
Les Lacs du Connemara is my favourite and one of the most popular songs of Michel Sardou. It is also a big international hit.
